Why not join the garden team at Somerleyton Hall as a garden volunteer?
The gardens at Somerleyton Hall are as important to us as the hall itself. They have long been regarded as one of the finest gardens in East Anglia and with 12 acres to look after they require a lot of care and attention. Work is underway to re-imagine the garden as a series of interconnected rooms. The gardens consist of herbaceous borders, kitchen gardens, a stunning parterre, maze and sunken garden among other features.
If you’d like the opportunity to work in one of the country’s most unique gardens why not sign up to join our team of garden volunteers? We are looking for enthusiastic people to help with our core gardening activities at the hall.
From planting to pruning it’s a great way to enjoy gardening on a scale most of us can’t reach in our own gardens.
We have a great team of professional gardeners and volunteers alike and our volunteers offer us their time and support and passion for gardening.
Tasks
We are looking for people who can spare a few hours regularly each week to help the professional horticultural team staff with general garden maintenance tasks including weeding, planting, pruning and cutting back, digging.
Training
All volunteers will be given a full induction before starting work and work will be overseen by the Garden Supervisor.
Hours
Days and times will be agreed to suit you.
We are holding a volunteer recruitment morning on 25th July at 9:30am at Somerleyton Hall. You’ll get a tour of the gardens and the chance to sign up to join our great team of volunteers.
